The features provided by this tool are very important if you want to use multiple virtualenv directories. Once it creates a virtual environment you install packages in the environment using pip. It’s not part of Python’s standard library therefore needs to be installed. Virtualenv: a tool that handles the creation of isolated Python environments that hold their own libraries or packages. These are not required or discussed here because P圜harm will handle it once you create and work on your project. In cases where P圜harm is not used, the Python version needs to be activated and changed manually using some pyenv command line options. It is useful in situations where you need to test an old program written in Python 2.7, but all your new work requires Python 3.8. It is not recommended that you uninstall, replace or mess with the default python installation because some applications or OS scripts may require it.
